March 30-31, 2010

I have successfully arrived in North Carolina with Miss Brittney Crews. She is absolutely amazing. Even though we’ve already spent a day-and-a-half with each other, theres still a lot of more awesomeness to come.

Tuesday, March 30

I had no problem getting to John Wayne Airport (JWA). There was no security line and the since I don’t check any of my bags, I got to bypass the long check-in lines at the kiosk. I was so excited to go through the metal detectors at the airport because I wanted the titanium rods and screws in my back to set off the metal detector. But, to my surprise, they did not. Either the rods aren’t inside my back or the metal detector at John Wayne was a little off, which is kinda scary. I’ve read online that titanium rods like mine are sure to set off metal detectors, from those at the airport to ones at federal buildings.

I departed JWA at 12:50 PM via Continental Airline, flight 1558 enroute to Houston International Airport (IAH). I scored a pretty sweet seat. I was just after the bulkhead in the aisle seat which meant that I had the chance to stretch out my legs the entire way, which balanced the uncomfortableness of wearing my brace the entire flight. I sat next to this apparently really tired couple that seemed to be from Oklahoma. As we flew over the Pacific Ocean I heard them say that they had never seen so much water in their entire lives. I really wish I could have stole the lady’s neck pillow.

I arrived in Houston without a minute so spare. I ran from terminal C, gate 22 to terminal B, gate 62. If I didn’t run, I would have missed my flight. I scored an even sweeter seat. Seat 2A, which meant that I was the second person out of the plane. I did have to check my bag plane-side because the overhead bins in the plane were too small to hold large carry-ons like mine. This one straggler came in even after me and as he proceded to place his bag into the overhead bin, he seemed to dislodge the bin door from it’s track, forcing a maintenance worker to come aboard and tear apart the bin. When we finally took off I was far less nervous and on the home stretch.

As soon as the airplane was landed in Charlotte by our rather obese pilot, I raced off the plane, grabbed my luggage plane side and raced through the gate to where Brittney was. I saw here immediately. She was waiting there in here jeans, pink shirt, and silver Tory Burch flats. We exchanged hugs and kisses and then on our way to Chili’s where we shared chips and salsa, a half-rack of baby back ribs, and a molten lava cake. From Chili’s we went straight home and went to sleep.

Today was a really fun day. After we got up, we headed out to Marble Slab to acquire some ice cream goodness. I think that Marble Slab is better than Cold Stone. Cold Stone is too expensive and I think the ice cream itself at Marble Slab is better. I made, perhaps, the best ice cream choice I have ever made. I decided upon, raspberry ice cream with rainbow sprinkles mashed in, inside a sprinkled waffle cone of course. Man oh man did I make a great choice. I took a picture to show you but my iPhone is a pice of retard crap and didn’t save it. Sorry. Oh, Brittney just had some lame sweet cream ice cream with no toppings. Bleh.

After Marble Slab, Brittney and I planned on having a picnic in Tanglewood Park, which is this enormous park that has horse trails, riding areas, dozens of parks, multiple pools, and even a little store. As we headed towards Tanglewood, we stopped at KFC and bought a bucket of fried chicken to take with us along with a 4-pack of Jones Cream Soda. We payed the $2 to get into the park and headed straight for Mallard Lake, which is sort of in the middle of the park I guess. The lake itself is pretty large and is apparently filled with a lot of bass. I wish I would have had some sort of fishing pole. My friend Chris Goodchild would really like this lake because it is full of natural structure and islands for the bass to hide near.

After spilling half our our soda and mashed potatoes on our towels we decided to head home and go miniature golfing at this arcade/golfing place, which is exactly like Boomers at home. We played one round of golf and a few arcade games then headed across the street to Hanes Mall. The mall is really big and full of stores. We went into Williams-Sonoma and looked around for cooking utensils that we both liked. My favorite things to look at in there are the pots and pans. I really want brass cooking pans to cook with. I bought Brittney a cute pink apron that she liked with three cupcakes on it.

After the mall closed we ventured over to this little fast food place called the Cook Out. It’s a little place that serves burgers, hot dogs, and almost every flavored shake imaginable. We both got a hot dog and a mint Oreo shake. The Cook Out is a drive-thru only establishment, so after we drove through and got our food we parked outside the movie theater and watched the people at the movies. After this, we headed home and baked a dozen-and-a-half funfetti cupcakes so Brittney could try out her new apron.

Below are some picture taken from today.

Hello Mom. I’m doing fine. I really miss Coco. That is all. Please don’t embarrass me in the comments below.
